Golden Days Galore
for The Dallas Opera!

The Dallas Opera is tremendously proud to mark its 50th international season, presented by the Elsa von Seggern Foundation, with a once-in-a-lifetime slate of productions: a nearly unparalleled selection of works never before performed in this company's history.

The 50th Anniversary Season is entitled, "A Season of Masters" explains Dallas Opera General Director Karen Stone, "Because it is intentionally designed to present and celebrate the .best of the best' in our art form, both onstage and off.  From the famous Bridal Chorus in Lohengrin to the spine-tingling Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves in Nabucco, this music has a definite .Ah-hah Factor' as people come to realize it's not only great - it's familiar!  You'll be humming these selections all the way home."

The Dallas Opera will also offer patrons the opportunity to take part in a remarkable concert version of "Bluebeard's Castle" by the legendary 20th century composer Béla Bartók.

This concert will be presented on the evening of January 17, 2007, at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and will star two world-renowned stars of the opera firmament: mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves and bass Robert Lloyd.

Subscribers have priority on obtaining tickets to this one-night-only event, which includes a pre-performance cocktail reception.  Tickets will be priced at $50, $75 and $200 apiece.  The $200 tickets include both the pre-performance cocktail reception and a post-performance dessert reception with the guest artists.

The 2006-2007 Season was constructed, in part, on patron requests from previous seasons.  Our season opener, Nabucco, is the single most requested opera in the repertoire.  We are nothing short of delighted to be able to bring it to our loyal audiences, at last!

Education Director Margery Anderson-Clive: Celebrated!

The Dallas Opera's Margery Anderson-Clive, our popular Education Director, was one of five individuals honored at the Dallas Arboretum's first "Celebration of Diversity" awards dinner (March 30th) designed to spotlight both individuals and organizations that have advanced the spirit of diversity within our community.

Ms. Anderson-Clive took the opportunity to pay tribute to her role model, singer Marian Anderson, and to point out that a "willingness to embrace human diversity goes beyond the personal: It has also served to strengthen the connections between different parts of our world, and create new possibilities for progress, as well as once-unimaginable solutions to difficult situations."  Congratulations, Margery!
