Afterschool Program 2011-2012
TDOinaSuitcase™
Puccini travels to the classroom via TDOinaSuitcase. A one-hour interactive program brings a suitcase full of visual arts projects and music activities to engage your students in any location ’ classroom, library or community center. TDO representatives will work with students to create fun-filled props and costumes that will be used to learn a scene from Puccini’s La bohème. Students will:
- Learn the basics of opera
- Learn opera etiquette
- Recreate a short musical excerpt from La bohème
- Create props and costumes
The TDOinaSuitcase programs available here are intended for participants in Big Thought or Richardson PACE and are ideal for groups of 20 to 35 students. If you are not affiliated with either of these programs, please contact the Education department at education@dallasopera.org or 214.443.1082.
