2007 - 2008 Amici Steering Committee
Nancy Gray, Steering Committee Chair
Nancy has been a member of Distinguished Audiences, Amici di Opera and a season ticket holder since 2004. In addition to her love for opera, she enjoys travel and fashion - which she experiences daily as a Co Brand Regional Consultant for fashion designers Dana Buchman and Ellen Tracy. Nancy is an active member of Junior Associates Discover the East (JADE), Dallas A&M Club and Highland Park United Methodist Church. She is also involved in a number of other charitable organizations in the Dallas community. Nancy is a graduate of Texas A&M University and an enthusiastic fan of the Fightin’ Texas Aggies. Nancy cherishes the friendships she has made through Amici, welcomes new friends and looks forward to seeing you all at The Dallas Opera!

David Bauman
David has been singing for nearly 30 years and still remembers his first opera production of Porgy and Bess at the Houston Grand Opera. Since then, he has seen over 150 productions of operas around the world and has missed only one production in Dallas in the past 4 years – sadly, it was Jenufa in 2004. He is an active member of the Dallas Symphony Chorus and the Highland Park United Methodist Church Choir, where he serves as President. David is a graduate of Southwestern University and holds MBA and Master of Arts Administration degrees from Southern Methodist University. He works for Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor and counsels individual, corporate and institutional clients on investments, cash management and retirement planning. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, raising Longhorns, traveling and meeting interesting new people – and, of course, spending time with a cute little blonde.

Carolyn Collier Bradley
Carolyn Collier Bradley is a long time opera fan looking forward to her 15th year as a season ticket holder. Carolyn has been an active volunteer with the Dallas Opera Woman’s Board as the chair for the Founder’s Lecture Series and in the Opera Guild with the Adopt-An-Artist program. Carolyn has been a member of Amici di Opera since 2006. Carolyn is a native Dallasite and attended her first opera, Madama Butterfly, while in the 4th grade through the Dallas Opera school performances. Mrs. Collier Bradley has served on the Board for the Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico, where she met her husband, as well as other educational and arts organizations in Dallas. Her volunteer “career” started as a candy striper at Medical City Hospital at the age of 14. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her husband, reading and traveling to see opera.

Rebecca Cedar
Rebecca began attending the Dallas Opera in 2003 and joined Amici di Opera in 2006. She has also served as a volunteer for the Dallas Museum of Art, Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, and the Children’s Hospital of Houston. Rebecca holds a business degree from the University of Missouri, a master’s degree from Southern Methodist University and is pursuing a Ph. D. in Humanities at the University of Texas-Dallas. After serving in various business roles including account executive and marketing director, her love of the visual arts led Rebecca back to the classroom, to an internship with the Meadows Museum, and a stint with the Nasher Sculpture Center. Along with working towards a doctoral degree, Rebecca is delighted to spend her days expanding young minds on topics of World History at a local private school. She looks forward to welcoming new faces to Amici for what is certain to be a thrilling season of the Dallas Opera.

Danielle Alexis Clarkson
Danielle has been a Dallas Opera season ticket holder for 5 glorious years. She also currently serves on the Opera’s Board of Trustees and as the liaison between the Board and Amici di Opera. Danielle joined the Dallas office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. in September 2000. As a senior associate, Danielle has been focusing her practice in labor and employment matters, as well as general litigation. Danielle completed her undergrad and J.D. degrees at Washington & Jefferson and University of Pittsburgh School of Law, respectively. She is fluent in German and enjoys all types of music.

Valerie De La Rosa
Valerie De La Rosa made her Amici di Opera debut during the Dallas Opera’s 50th Anniversary season. And the reviews are in. . .Amici is fabulous! She can’t contain her enthusiasm for the upcoming season’s theme—Death by Diva—because it practically screams buy a new outfit. Lucky for her, burnt orange brings out her big brown eyes (and rightfully so, she is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin). When she’s not thinking about shopping, she stars in a recurring role as chief storyteller for Good Fulton & Farrell (that’s code for public relations). Never one to settle down, De La Rosa continuously cultivates her leadership skills by way of the Dallas Architectural Foundation Board, the Junior League of Dallas and The Real Estate Council. She dares you to get involved with Amici.

Gabriela Deras
Gabriela Deras is an enthusiastic opera lover. Her appreciation for opera started as a teenager when she stumbled across a television broadcast of The Barber of Seville. A native of El Paso, Texas, she joined Amici di Opera in 2005. She is a member of JADE, Junior Associates Discover the East, and Art After 5, a non-profit group that raises funds to help support the arts in Dallas public schools. Gabriela is a graduate of UT Austin, Go Longhorns!, with an accounting degree. She enjoys the fine arts, good wine, traveling and spending time with friends. She is excited about spending another year with Amici and looks forward to meeting new friends.

Brian Hackfeld
Brian Hackfeld, a native Texan, recently returned to Dallas after living in San Francisco for the past nineteen years. Brian was very active with San Francisco Opera, co-chairing two Opening Night Galas for BRAVO! CLUB, the nation’s first young professional opera support organization, and he remains a board member of the San Francisco Opera Guild. He was the Guild’s first male chairperson of their immensely successful Designer Fête Spring Fashion Show, proceeds supporting both the Opera Company and the Guild’s education programs. Brian’s professional life has been in US and international business development capacities within the luxury interior furnishings industry. He is thrilled to be part of Amici di Opera at such an exciting time in The Dallas Opera’s history.

Jeremiah Marks
Jeremiah Marks recently relocated to Texas from Seattle with his wife Leslie. He acquired a love for opera at a young age culminating in studying for a year in vocal performance at the Eastman School of Music. Currently he is employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers in their tax division which focuses on middle market private companies. Jeremiah has sung in multiple operas including the choruses of Gotterdammerung and Parsifal for Seattle Opera. He has also had the privilege of participating in two original works. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. Jeremiah currently lives in Denton with his wife Leslie who is pursuing her master's degree in vocal performance at the University of North Texas.

Veena Puppala
Veena has been a member of Amici di Opera since 2006. Her passion for opera is reflected in her love of all things artistic, especially pottery and photography. When not devoting her time to the opera and other artistic endeavors, Veena is a member of the Ebby Halliday Family of Realtors, helping people find the home of their dreams. She has also traveled extensively, having lived and studied in Italy and trekked in the mountains of Tibet, Nepal, and India. It is this enthusiasm for life that Veena brings to her role on the board of Amici di Opera.

Faye Wright
Faye has been a member of Amici di Opera since 2002 and has been a Dallas Opera season ticket holder for 5 years (and counting!). She is an avid traveler and fully utilizes her benefits as an American Airlines employee. Faye serves on the boards of the Dallas Women’s Foundation and Generations Center, and she is an active member of Covenant Church in Carrollton. Faye is both a Longhorn fan and a Blue Devil fan having completed her undergrad and grad degrees at UT-Austin and Duke University, respectively. She loves most types of music and has enjoyed all the new friends she’s met as an Amici member.

Pete Yunyongying
Pete is a relatively new, but enthusiastic, member of the Amici di Opera family but a lifelong fan of the visual and performing arts. Also serving as a docent and steering committee member at the Crow Collection of Asian Arts, his “real” job is as a physician and professor at UT-Southwestern and the Veterans Administration Hospital. Growing up in Baltimore before going to college in Providence, he is a Thai Buddhist who moved to Dallas to be closer to his sister and niece (oh, and brother-in-law) . In what is left of his spare time, he enjoys jazz, cycling, ultimate (Frisbee©), photography, travel, and any combination of the above. But, most of all, he just likes meeting new and interesting people.
